Reach more fans through promoted posts
Promoted posts enable you to reach more of your fans over a three-day period with your business message or special promotion. When you promote your post, fans will see your Page post as a sponsored story in their news feed on desktop or on mobile. And when fans like, share, comment, or claim an offer from your promoted post, their friends may see the post too. You can use the “promote” drop-down menu on any post created within the past three days to promote the post directly from your Page. Promoted posts are currently available to businesses and brands with 400 to 100,000 fans.

Target your sponsored stories in news feed to mobile or desktop users
The ability to target your sponsored stories in news feed specifically to mobile or desktop users can make it even easier to reach your customers with the right message. For example, if you want to drive mobile app downloads, then bidding on mobile news feed separately may be good option. If you’re looking to acquire fans or drive people to a Page that would be better viewed on a desktop, news feed desktop placements may be more effective. These placements are now available to buy separately if you’re using Power Editor or working with an ads API partner.  

Free The Children raises big money and big awareness on Facebook
Check out our latest case study to learn how Canada-based charity Free The Children was able to raise $2.4 million on Facebook. The organization, which provides youth with tools to tackle the world’s biggest challenges, leveraged Facebook to drive awareness and action around its service-oriented We Day event. For every like the We Day Page received, corporate sponsors pledged $1 to Free The Children. Premium Facebook Ads invited people to like the Page, while sponsored stories amplified the reach of organic stories created when people liked it. As part of the integrated campaign, Initiative Media provided in-kind advertising on television, radio and other media that also drove people to the Page. By clicking like, not only did youth trigger a $1 donation to projects for the greater good but they also became part of a community that wants to make a difference.
